MEET THE MONEY BAND!
Zoe Alexander
(lead Vocals, harmonica, percussion)
Zoe was born to perform. The charismatic entertainer found his voice in his early 20s while playing with a Newport Beach band. His first major show was the First Annual Catalina Blues Festival with thousands in attendance. He was soon after chosen by Priscilla and Lisa Marie Presley as their personal band for the 25th Elvis Presley Anniversary in Memphis, TN. He's traveled the world--Italy, France, Phoenix, India, the Caribbean, Miami--singing, playing with the locals. He gained fluency in a remarkable range of styles. Soul, rock and roll, blues, country, reggae, jazz, calypso--it's all second nature to Zoe. He formed the Money Band and quickly built a reputation for honesty in business and a take-no-prisoners approach to entertaining.
Michael Chatfield
(Bass)
Many bassists came to the instrument because no one else wanted the job. Bands are littered with former drummers and guitarists playing bass because they have to. Michael has always relished the low notes. He started playing tuba in sixth grade band: "It just doesn't get much nerdier than that," Michael laughs. The improvisational, fluid playing of Cream's innovative Jack Bruce gave him his first glimmer of real creative possibilities. "Chat" is as comfortable supporting a Count Basie big band chart as he is a Kings of Leon rocker or a classic Willy Nelson country song. He has an abiding love for all kinds of music.
Michael Kobrinsky
(Drums, vocals)
Known as "Koby," Michael got his first drum kit at 13. After watching Donny Osmond jump onto a drum set to play along while performing "I'm a Little Bit Country," "That did it," Koby says. "I was hooked." Michael developed his powerhouse style playing in a succession of bands, exploring many different genres. He paid his way through college playing with a new wave and alternative rock band. Continuing school in San Francisco, Koby played in a psychedelic synth band in the Haight before decamping for Los Angeles where he attended the Musician's Institute and played in a succession of original rock groups. His dynamic playing style and soaring vocals are a key component of the Money Band sound.
Steve Moseley
(Guitar, vocals)
Steve is proud of--and highly grateful for--the fact that between busy playing and teaching schedules, he's been earning his living solely in the music business for nearly two decades. That remarkable accomplishment requires a high level of talent, dedication and commitment. "Teaching is a huge part of my life," he says, "but my passion is performing live." Although he's a to-the-bone Led Zeppelin fan, ("a rocker at heart!"), Steve also possesses a chameleon-like ability to morph effortlessly between the many different styles of the Money Band --thanks in part to the training he gained at the Guitar Institute of Technology in Hollywood.
The Money Band has shared the stage with many major acts including Steve Winwood, The Dixie Chicks, Kenny Chesney, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Dave Mason, Link Wray, The Stray Cats, The Byrds, James Burton and many, many more. They have toured and performed all over the United States as well as internationally, with dates in Europe including England, The Netherlands, Italy, and France.
Additionally, they have performed for weddings and private parties at some of the most prestigious hotels and venues both locally and around the world, including The Lodge at Pebble Beach, Chateau Julien, The Inn at Spanish Bay, The Asilomar Conference Grounds, Carmel Mission Ranch, The Holly Farm, Corral De Tierra Country Club, Paraiso Vineyards, The Coconut Grove in Santa Cruz, The Peabody in Memphis, TN, and The Hotel Negresco in Nice, France, to name just a few.
